The Dunaire Harvest Festival - The Event of the Season!

Perfect weather, a very large turnout, and a lot of great organizing made our first Dunaire Fall Festival a fantastic success! A bouncy castle, games, face-painting, crafts, and pumpkin decorating kept younger Dunaireans busy and smiling, while adults enjoyed the sunshine, browsed the book sale tables, snacked, and learned about the community garden. Both of our candidates for U.S. Congress District 4, Hank Johnson and Liz Carter, came to show their support for Dunaire, and to meet Dunaire voters.

It really was a great event and everyone had a good time. We're already looking forward to next year!

A really special thank you to Jennifer and Adrienne for all their hard work and organizing, to John for generously lending a generator and decorations, and also to Aileen, Emmanuel, Carolyn, Tony, Wilson, Doug, Virginia, Stephanie, Bill, and everyone who contributed their time and talents! You all really make Dunaire a wonderful place to call home.

The Dunaire Harvest Festival is Saturday!

The Dunaire Harvest Festival will take place this coming Saturday, October 16th, from 2 'til 5pm in the Dunaire Community Garden on Cheviot Drive. It'll be a great time for everyone to come out and celebrate the arrival of autumn and some cooler weather.

All Dunaire residents are welcome, and there will be a lot of fun activities for our younger Dunaireans - pumpkin painting, temporary tattoos, arts and crafts, games, and a bouncy house! We'll also have a book sale (to benefit the pool), free cider and donuts, hot dogs, refreshments, a bike helmet raffle, and a photo booth.

So, come on out and get to know your neighbors, watch the kids play, and enjoy the fall season. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Dunaire Neighborhood Meeting This Tuesday!

The Dunaire Civic Association will meet this Tuesday, October 5th, at 7:30pm, at the Indian Creek Baptist Church. Topics of discussion will include the upcoming Dunaire Harvest Festival, keeping Dunaire safe and secure, the Community Garden, and general neighborhood improvement ideas.  All Dunaire neighbors are encouraged to come find out what's going on in the neighborhood....we need your input!

Immediately following the regular meeting, there will be two great opportunities for all attendees...

The Dunaire Harvest Festival Committee will hold the second planning meeting.  All Dunaire residents are more than welcome to participate, and help make sure our upcoming event is a great success.  We've had a lot of really positive feedback and folks are really excited.

Also, Tony will be hosting a workshop to learn how to effectively use Facebook to create a free web presence for you business.  No need to be a computer genius.  Just show up for this hand-on tutorial.  When you leave, you will have a Facebook page if you want one!

See you there!
